I doubt many are looking for 8-bay DAS, anything larger than 4-bay you are probably better off with NAS. Many DAS have limited RAID support, which can make having more drives more risky.

You can set it in the BIOS, regardless of OS.
This is how we handled camera servers at one of my former jobs, we just setup HP SFF desktops with Windows and the software and turned on the watchdog timer, always did the trick when power outages or system hangups happened.

It is entirely possible to start with a 2-bay drive rack (not a caddy, we want something without the connections) and then run the SATA out the back of the computer to the drives. It’s a compromise for this low a budget, but it’s not a major sacrifice.
That think center looks perfect for this use case. Especially if it’s running Debian or arch.
Older thinkpads in this price range will not perform well as servers. They will be pretty limited in specs. Better to go with a used SFF or other form-factor business model desktop.
I’ve been using ArchiveBox, this looks a bit more feature-full than ArchiveBox although it seems like ArchiveBox has been pretty stable. Anyone have experience with both, can vouch for the pros and cons?
I may take some time to compare the two. After taking another look at Linkwarden I get the impression it may handle archiving pages differently than ArchiveBox, which isn’t a bad thing it may just not fit the usage of everyone who uses ArchiveBox. The presentation and UI look really good, which is something I find ArchiveBox suffers a bit from.
You can create a webhook in Discord and in Matrix that will share messages in channels back and forth
OwnCloud? More like PwnCloud
I’m not sure if any of this information is useful, code-server doesn’t support installing the Remote-SSH extension. There are alternative methods to connect to environments, I personally think Remote-SSH is ideal.

I wish this were the case. I have to manage multiple Wordpress sites and its backend is a sticky mess of outdated PHP conventions and plugins with very little standardization and even less thorough verification. If you’ve ever had to migrate sites or move new content from one site to another, if you’ve ever had to shift domains or deal with multi-site configurations, you will realize that Wordpress makes things easy for the end-user but there’s a reason there are so many managed Wordpress offerings out there.
Wordpress is hot garbage. Full stop.
If you can’t make any sense of it, keep trying. If keep trying isn’t what you want to do, don’t do it. Really, you don’t have to force yourself into this if it’s unintelligible and frustrating. I’ve hit the wall plenty of times, and I keep hitting the wall, sometimes I wish I could just stop while I’m not stressed and going bald.
What makes the port redirections difficult to implement in the code? I’m imagining the kernel has some way of handling this without too many external libraries but I’m not well-versed enough on this to know for sure.
I agree that they will probably resolve this sooner than later, I prefer Cloudflare for a lot of things. I point this out because if you are working with sensitive/personal data that you want secure, you may want to do some due diligence to make sure it stays secure.
Just make sure you keep in mind that security with Cloudflare is not 100%, you may need to do a bit more on your ends to keep things locked down.

I’m not entirely sure this affects Tunnels, but it’s good to make sure if you plan to use that service.
It asks questions for both self-hosted on your own hardware as well as hosted in the cloud, I’m a little confused why everyone thinks all the questions must be applicable. It’s a survey about self-hosting. I happened to have cloud and local hosting answers, and it seemed like if I only used cloud there were suitable answers for that. Maybe I missed something?
This makes me think of how Anytype stores files, it’s impossible to get your files from Anytype without exporting them through a tool in the software. If you delete Anytype, you have to reinstall it to get your files back the way you made them.
