There is a rudimentary git server with federation support as a POC, but it’s not there yet. I’m Selfhosting Forgejo, it works really well, but AP integration isn’t really in it yet.

The regular jellyfin app works with the system can store. This is only about finamp.
That wasn’t a thing last time I tried. Is that possible now? Or do you mean for my android system? I have the CA installed on my system of course, but iirc the flutter library they use does not use the system store.
I’ve used this for more than a year and can confirm it works really well.
My issue is that I use a self signed CA, there is some progress in that area, but last time I checked not something usable on my device
Yeah, but you’d need to own a public domain and use it for your LAN, no? Or would it be possible to get a letsencrypt certificate for example.local
?
I’m using a self signed CA for my home network with caddy. You just set it up to use a ca once and afterwards it just works. So yeah, really easy.
Iirc you can upload your own certificates and keys in npm, you’ll just have to manage the CA manually or with some other tool.
Very cool and il jealous but I’m curious: how big was the updgrade to your power consumption?
I hosted NPM in two servers for some time, I had it break too often and could not set custom configs easily. I switched to caddy and could not be happier.
When using caddy, you don’t even need to think about letsencrypt, unless you want to disable it in favor of something else.
I like to use my eyes, an ssh connection and my shell.
tmux and tui monitoring tools are also often handy.
I had Plex in my name first!
If I remember correctly from my CCNA, it is also responsible for configuring routes from one network to another, because configuring static routes in routers is not fun.
I host my array of HDD drives with btrfs, works well and is Linux native.
Debian is ~
Alright, you seem to have a good grasp on what you’re doing. Good luck have fun. I really hope it works for you.
Hosting email with mailcow dockerized worked pretty good on my netcup vps, but before you go into hosting email ask yourself a few questions:
I personally ended up scrapping my email server eventually. Nowadays I pay a company to do the mail hosting, you just need to set some DNS records and they do everything else. Personally, I’m with proton, but there are many good alternatives.
For authelia, iirc it’s a problem with the way cookies work, but also with how they set their system up structurally. I don’t know the details anymore.
Does it work for multiple domains (not Subdomains)? I’m currently using authelia, which can’t do that, which sucks.
I second this. Wireguard, openvpn, various docker containers offering these, I’ve been through with them.
The regular openvpn or wireguard tools are good if you only need a dumb von, but if you want some kind of special routing or overlay network, tailscale has just been so easy.
I selfhost it completely too, using a headscale control server.
Personally, I’ve just set my devices to only sync in my LAN, just in case.
